Cyberspace learning - information and communications technologies in education

A conference entitled "Cyberspace learning - information and communications technologies in education" will be held in Manchester, United Kingdom, on 25 and 26 November 1996. The conference is organized by the University of Bradford and Toucan Europe, with support from DG XIII of the European Commission under the Education and Training sector of the specific RTD programme in the field of Telematics Applications.

The aim of the conference is to bring together policy-makers and education providers to discuss the potential that telematics applications offer to education and learning. In particular, the conference will cover European initiatives in the field of content and technologies in education.

Sessions at the conference will include information about European Community initiatives including the Telematics Applications programme, the SOCRATES action programme in the field of education and training and the European Year of Lifelong Learning. Presentations from representatives of the Commission will underline the opportunities available. A number of case studies, outlining experiences gained in projects in this area, will also be presented to participants.
