MIDEST'96 - International Subcontracting Exhibition

The MIDEST'96 International Sub-contracting Exhibition, "Tailor-made solutions for industry", will take place in Paris, France, from 2-6 December 1996. The exhibition, which will bring together over 2,000 exhibitors from 25 countries, is a major event for sub-contractors.

Exhibitors will be regrouped, by industrial sector, into six main areas:

- Metal processing, including: semi-finished products; tooling fittings, dies and moulds; forge, foundry, fabrication; metal cutting; forming and cutting processes; finishing (thermal and surface treatment); multi-sector activities;
- Industrial fasteners;
- Plastics, rubber, composites;
- Electronics and electricity;
- Research, engineering, quality;
- Industrial maintenance.

MIDEST'96 will also feature the technology transfer event, "Bourse Internationale d'Offres de Technologies" (BIOT), at which technological offers emanating from research laboratories, SMEs and representative organizations from across Europe will be presented. Four Innovation Relay Centres are expected to participate in this event, bringing with them over 60 profiles from local companies. BIOT is supported by European Commission, within the framework of the INTERPRISE programme. It is also one of the activities of the Community's KONVER programme for the reconversion of enterprises linked to the armament industries.
