Technology Transfer Seminar - Russia and Finland

A seminar on technology transfer and a contact forum will be held in St Petersburg, Russia, on 30 and 31 January 1997. The seminar is being organized by the Finnish Patent Office, the Kymenlaakso Institute of Technology, IPEC, Technology Centre Kareltek and the St Petersburg Regional Foundation for Science and Technology Development.
The seminar will bring together technical and managing directors of high-technology western (primarily Finnish) companies and managers of Russian enterprises. The main target groups of the seminar are manufacturers of medical equipment and SMEs in electricity and electronics manufacturing (especially subcontractors). As the seminar is being held beside the large Svetlana electronics factories, participants will be able to see at first hand the Russian electronics industry.
The seminar will provide participants with the latest information regarding technology transfer and the associated immaterial rights. In particular, the most important legal and practical aspects of establishing cross-border business operations for both Russian and western companies will be covered.
Following the seminar, the contact forum will encourage mutual contacts between Russian, Finnish and other western companies.
