Phytosfere '97, the first European meeting for technology transfer in plant biotechnology, will be held in Dublin, Ireland, from 23 to 24 April 1997. The event is supported by the European Commission, as part of the project of technical priority (PTP), "Plant Molecular Genetics for an Environmentally Compatible Agriculture".

The event aims to build on the success of the Plant PTP, which started in 1993, by disseminating the results of the project, and facilitating technology transfer by bringing together industry and academia. The meeting will consist of three complementary events, which will run in parallel:

- Technology transfer event, including a conference, R&D exhibition and trade exhibition;
- Intellectual property workshop;
- Satellite meeting for nursery growers.
