Preparation of certified reference materials training courses

Two training courses on the preparation of certified reference materials (CRMs) will be held in Geel, Belgium, on 22-24 May and 5-7 October 1997. The courses will be held at the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements of the Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).

The courses, organized within the framework of the Standards, Measurement and Testing programme (SMT), will cover the environmental, biomedical and food areas. The aim of the courses is to give participants a theoretical and practical insight into the preparation of reference materials. These CRMs are an essential aspect of quality control in chemical analysis.

The course is intended for scientists working in the field of quality control in the analysis of food, biomedical and environmental matrices. Participants will receive a solid theoretical and practical basis for the successful in-house preparation of reference materials of appropriate quality which can be used for the quality assurance of routine analysis.
