Training of teachers in educational multimedia

Within the framework of the INFO2000 programme, the Community's multiannual programme to stimulate the development of a European multimedia content industry and to encourage the use of multimedia content in the emerging Information Society, the European Commission is organizing a workshop to discuss ways of promoting training of teachers in educational multimedia. The workshop will be held in Luxembourg on 24-25 February 1997.

Approximately 300 teachers are expected to participate from different European countries. Discussions will focus on:

- Training of teachers;
- Learning outside the school environment;
- New educational tools;
- Relationships between teachers and pupils and transfer of experience at European level.

A demonstration of multimedia educational products will be given during the one-and-a-half day workshop.
