A Technology Transfer Seminar, followed by two "Contact Days" relating to the environment and energy sectors, will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from 5 to 7 March 1997. The events are being organized by the Finnish Foreign Trade Association and partners under the INTERPRISE programme.
The Technology Transfer Seminar (5 March) will focus on new business opportunities for SMEs, particularly in the area of innovations aimed at strengthening ecological values and environmental protection. The afternoon session will be taken up with visits to local energy and waste treatment installations to demonstrate, at first hand, the benefits of new technologies.
The Contact Days (6-7 March) will take the form of pre-arranged meetings between companies. The days will focus on energy, environment and sustainable development. These meetings are aimed, in particular, at companies participating in projects funded by the Finnish Technology Development Centre (TEKES) or the European Community's Specific RTD programme in the field of Non-nuclear Energy (JOULE/THERMIE).
