Electronic Commerce and EDI

A conference on "Electronic Commerce and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)" will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 24 March 1997. The conference, which is organized by the International Bureau for Cooperation in Research and Technology (BIT), will examine the latest developments in Austria and the opportunities available for project support, in this field, within the European Union.

The programme will include presentations on:

- The Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Information Technologies (ESPRIT), Austrian success stories and possibilities for the future;
- The EDI initiative in Austria;
- The latest ESPRIT call for proposals (to be published on 15 March 1997);
- Experiences with ESPRIT projects and electronic commerce solution for SMEs;
- The electronic market for SMEs;
- EDI and electronic commerce in Austrian businesses.

Participants at the conference will also have the opportunity to learn more about CORDIS, the Community's Research and Development Information Service.
