Textiles and the Information Society
The objective of the conference, which is part of the TI World Conference series, is to present participants with the latest information on developments concerning all aspects of the textile and associated industries. In particular, this year's conference will focus attention on the applications of information technology (IT) in the textile, apparel and associated industries. Delegates will gain an insight into how IT can save their companies time and money, by helping them respond more accurately to customers' demands, and will learn how this new technology can reduce the unpredictability of commercial decisions.
Particular importance is given to applications in the "Integration in manufacturing" domain. New value-adding approaches to product marketing, design and development, will be discussed by the world's leading company executives, scientists and academics. Participants will be informed about new products and processing technologies, with special emphasis on CAD, CAM and CIM applications in the different sectors of manufacturing.
The European Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Information Technologies (ESPRIT) will have a stand and information desk at the conference at which the results of a number of recently completed projects in the textile field will be presented.
