Ninth International Conference on Modern Materials and Technologies

CIMTEC'98, the ninth International Conference on Modern Materials and Technologies, will take place in Florence, Italy, on 14-19 June 1998. The event, which is supported by the Community's BRITE/EURAM programme in the field of industrial and materials technologies, will incorporate the World Ceramics Congress and the Forum on New Materials.

. Ceramics for process engineering, chemical and environmental applications;
. Electronic, magnetic and optical ceramics;
. Standards and markets for advanced ceramics;

- Forum on New Materials:
. Computational modelling and simulation of materials;
. Developments and modern applications of surface and near surface analysis of materials;
. Surface engineering;
. Diamond films: synthesis, processing and applications;
. Advanced structural fibre composites;
. Science and applications of HTC superconductivity;
. Innovative materials in advanced energy technologies;
. Smart materials systems;
. Solid state chemical and biochemical sensors;
. Innovative light emitting materials;
. Materials in clinical applications.

The conference organizers are calling for the submission of abstracts relating to any of the above topics.
