Electrochemistry and environmental protection
The use of electrochemical technology in industries is increasing steadily because of the great potential of this technology, both as a clean and powerful method of synthesis, and as a method of treating contaminated effluents from chemical processes. The workshop, aimed primarily at the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, will focus on the possible applications of electrochemical technology to industrial processes and to the problems involved in the transfer of this technology to industry.
The workshop will consist of several talks, given by specialists, on topics such as the electro-organic synthesis of fine chemicals and pharmaceutical products and the treatment of industrial effluents. Special consideration will be given to the problems of transferring technology from the research laboratory to the industrial plant. Some processes will be carried out in the laboratory in order to illustrate the talks.
