A European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM) will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 28-29 April 1997. The conference is being organized by the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, in collaboration with the EU-funded MOMENTUM project.

ECOMM will address a wide range of aspects of mobility management, including policy, implementation, marketing, behavioural science and results. The aim is to provide a forum in which experts can exchange ideas, information and experience on the latest developments in this field, in particular between the public and private sectors across Europe.

The conference programme will include the following topics:

- Mobility management: Why is it essential for Europe;
- Mobility management and policy;
- Mobility management and implementation.

Special workshops will address the issues of:

- Mobility management and reconstruction;
- Mobility management special products;
- Critical factors to the success or failure of mobility management;
- Mobility management, human behaviour and marketing.

Particular attention will be given to the results of the MOMENTUM (Mobility Management for the Urban Environment) and MOSAIC (Mobility Strategy Applications in the Community) large-scale research projects on mobility management, both supported by the EU within the framework of its specific research programme in the field of Transport.

Speakers at the conference will include the Dutch Minister of Transport and Mr. Neil Kinnock, European Commissioner responsible for transport policy. Ministers of Transport from the other EU Member States are also expected to attend.
