Telekommarkt Europa'97, a three-day conference focusing on the telecommunications market in Europe, will take place in Bonn, Germany, from 9 to 11 June 1997. The conference is being organized by the "Handelsblatt" as part of a series of annual international meetings.
The conference will feature presentations by 30 European opinion leaders in the fields of politics and economics. Mr. Karel Van Miert, European Commissioner responsible for competition policy, will speak on the theme "Facilitating effective market access - securing open markets". Other speakers will include Dr. Wolfgang Botsch, German Minister for Postal Affairs and Telecommunications, Mr. Ernst Weiss, Vice Chairman for Europe of the International Telecommunications User Group, as well as a number of leading figures in the European telecommunications industry.
