The Fourth European Control Conference, ECC'97, will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from 1 to 4 July 1997. This conference, organized under the auspices of the European Union Control Association (EUCA), has become the major scientific event in the field of control in Europe, and in particular in the European Union. It is supported by the European Commission, within the framework of the Community's BRITE/EURAM programme for research in the field of industrial and materials technologies.

The conference covers all aspects of systems and control, and ranges from fundamental research to applications in process control and advanced technology. The main aim is to disseminate information on the most recent scientific advances in these areas, to transfer knowledge to industry and to confront the efforts of the scientific control community with the demands of industry in these areas, by bringing together researchers and engineers of both communities.
