Conference on energy and building in the Mediterranean area: Greece, April 1992

The 3rd international conference on "Energy and building in the Mediterranean area" will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 8-10 April 1992. Organized by the Laboratory of Building Physics and Construction of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the support of the Commission of the European Communities, the conference will cover topics including:
- Design and construction solutions for buildings with a view to energy saving;
- The role of shading devices, thermal mass, natural ventilation and other design parameters under summer conditions;
- Passive solar systems for heating and cooling;
- Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of passive solar systems;
- Thermal comfort under summer and winter conditions.

Aiming to introduce and evaluate the latest scientific knowledge in these fields, the conference is expected to be of interest to architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and structural physics engineers, as well as to local authorities, services and companies actively concerned in this area.
