Business information in the Information Society

A conference entitled "Business information in the Information Society" will take place in Rome, Italy, on 22-23 May 1997. The conference is being organized by the Italian Confederation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CONFAPI), in collaboration with Publica Organizzazione & Strategia.

The conference will examine the increasing importance of business information in the Information Society and how opportunities can be effectively exploited by SMEs. The topics to be covered will include:

- New roles for economic information;
- Economic information and new media;
- The CONFAPI network: information services for SMEs;
- New faces for economic information;
- Technology for data support;
- Financial information services;
- Modern distribution and the consumer: the value of information.

The work of the European Commission's Information Society Project Office (ISPO) will be presented at the conference and a joint ISPO/EURSTAT stand will be set up in the conference exhibition area.
