A seminar and workshop on "The future of biogas in Europe", organized within the framework of the Community's ALTENER programme for the promotion of renewable energy sources in the Community, will be held in Herning, Denmark, on 8-9 September 1997.

The event is being organized by the Danish Biomass Institute as part of the activities of the European "Energy from Waste" network, part of the ALTENER programme. The seminar and workshop will bring together decision makers, planners, industrial partners and others with special interest in anaerobic digestion/biogas production.

The main focus of the seminar will be on the development of biogas technology and the transfer of technology in this area. Participants will also look at the future of biogas in Europe, its potential and the resources available.
