Three seminars designed for potential participants in EU RTD programmes will be held in London, United Kingdom, during June 1997. The seminars are organized by the Institute of European Trade and Technology (IETT).

A conference on "The successful development of industrial-academic links in European research programmes" will be held on 12 June 1997. The aim of the conference is to bring together intermediaries involved in establishing partnerships, to discuss links between industry and academia. In particular, the conference aims to produce a summary of good practice, with a view to the development of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme.

A seminar on the INCO-DC programme for international cooperation with developing countries will be held on 16 June 1997. This will have particular emphasis on the third call for proposals, launched on 15 April, with a deadline for submission of proposals of 11 September. An overview of the call will be provided by a representative of the European Commission, who will present the priority topics open for proposals, as well as talk about previous calls and the selection and evaluation process.

The Biotechnology programme will be the subject of the seminar on 18 June 1997. This will concentrate on the call for proposals due to be launched on 17 June, closing in October. An overview of the topics open in the call will be provided by a representative of the European Commission. In addition a number of case studies, presenting lessons from previous calls for proposals, will be presented to participants.
