The 14th EUCEN (European Universities Continuing Education Network) conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland, from 17 to 19 October 1997. EUCEN represents the interests of universities in continuing education, and has over 120 members. The current Rector of EUCEN is Commissioner Edith Cresson, while the network is supported by the SOCRATES programme.

The event aims to provide the latest information on continuing education policies and programmes by fostering discussions and exchanges of experience among those involved in the field. A number of presentations from specialists in continuing education will highlight key policy areas. For example, presentations will be given on new communications technologies and education, social inclusion, European policy networks and innovation for the voluntary sector, and the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme.
