Calcium signalling in the cell nucleus

The First European Conference on Calcium Signalling in the Cell Nucleus will take place in Baia Paraelios, Italy, on 4-8 October 1997. The conference is sponsored by the European Commission within the framework of the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Biotechnology (BIOTECH II), and by the Universities of Calabria.
The conference programme will address a range of issues relating to calcium signalling in the cell nucleus, including:
- Cytosolic and nuclear calcium pools: cross-talk and regulation;
- The nuclear envelope and the nuclear pores: structure and permeability;
- The calcium transporting systems of the nuclear envelope;
- Calmodulin and calmodulin targets in the nucleus;
- Calcium in excitation-transcription coupling;
- Nuclear calcium and calcium binding proteins in cell pathology.
