The European Commission, DG XVII, is hosting a seminar on "The biomass boiler market in Europe - Future trends and prospects", to be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 19 September 1997. The seminar is being organized by Energie Anlagen Berlin GmbH (EAB), within the framework of the Community's JOULE/THERMIE programme for RTD in the field of non-nuclear energy.

The seminar is the last in a series of four seminars on the same topic. The overall objective is to promote new biomass boiler technologies and to provide and opportunity for actors on the biomass boiler market in Europe to meet and discuss. This seminar will draw together the conclusions of the previous three events and present the views of the European Union and other international groups.

Top biomass technologies will be presented and a strategic paper for future market penetration will be discussed. The presentations will cover both the financial and legal aspects of bioenergy utilization and boiler technologies for medium and large applications.

The seminar is aimed at all persons or organizations interested in the utilization of bioenergy and biomass boiler technology, including: engineering companies and planners; energy managers from industry; municipalities; public utilities; industrial and farmer associations; civil servants; fuel producers; and decision makers in EU, national and local authorities.
