APPLICA '97 Exhibition and Business Convention

The APPLICA'97 exhibition and business convention will take place in Lille, France, from 30 September to 3 October 1997. APPLICA is a major meeting point for the applied technologies sector, focusing on electronics, computer and telecommunication applications. It is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing and the Regional Council of Nord Pas-de-Calais, in cooperation with the General Council of the "Département du Nord" and the Regional Directorate for Industry, Research and Environment.
APPLICA'97 will incorporate the following elements:
- An exhibition area of over 6,000m2;
- An inaugural conference and conference programme;
- APPLICA TIC '97 - the first European Business and Technological Opportunities Convention.
The main objective of APPLICA TIC '97 is to promote the development of partnerships between large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and suppliers of technology and specialist services. The convention will cover the following applications:
- The installation of electronic systems;
- Computer applications and information systems;
- Telecommunications;
- Value-added services, including new activities linked with information content.
APPLICA TIC '97 will provide the opportunity for customer and user companies to establish contacts with a panel of pre-selected suppliers, thus promoting the development of business relationships and technical and commercial partnerships. Pre-programmed meetings will be arranged by the convention organizers in accordance with the requirements expressed by customer and user companies and the capacity of suppliers to meet these needs.
The European network of Innovation Relay Centres is closely associated with APPLICA'97 and, in particular, with the APPLICA TIC '97 business convention. The inaugural conference, organized in collaboration with the IRISI (Inter-Regional Information Society Initiative) Nord Pas-de-Calais Unit, the Innovation Relay Centre network and the European Commission, will focus on the development of the Information Society as a result of increasing use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applications.
