ESPRIT Information Day

The Institute of European Trade and Technology (UK) and the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are organizing an Information Day on the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Information Technologies (ESPRIT). The Information Day, which will take place in London, UK, on 23 September 1997, will focus on the forthcoming call for proposals for the ESPRIT programme, due to be published on 16 September 1997.

Participants in the Information Day will receive background information on the 1997 ESPRIT Work Programme and on the contents of the 10th ESPRIT call for proposals. Particular emphasis will be placed on two new themes to be included in this call:

- Information access and interfaces;
- Learning and training for industry.

Participants will be briefed by Commission officials on the content and objectives of the call, both in these two new areas and in the other areas covered. Those interested in submitting proposals will be able to attend specialist workshops in the afternoon which will explore the themes in more detail and present case studies to help proposers formulate their own ideas. The Day will also offer an opportunity to meet prospective partners.
