Change and Innovation - The challenge for small firms
The aim of this year's seminar is to provide a forum for the exchange of experience and general discussion on a wide range of topics related to change and innovation and their impact on SMEs. The main focus will be on practical issues relating to the impact of change and innovation on the survival, competitiveness and development of small firms and the implications for management. The event is aimed at entrepreneurs, managers, academics, financiers, researchers, consultants and other practitioners in this field.
The seminar will include a range of key-note presentations, a panel discussion on "Overcoming obstacles to innovation", two workshops focusing on "Innovations in human resources management and training systems" and "Coping with technological change in SMEs", and a number of parallel sessions covering, among others, the topics of: technology transfer; financing innovation; industrial and intellectual property rights, strategies for change; and the new environment for business.
Mr. Mario Bellardinelli, Head of the "Dissemination of Scientific and Technological Knowledge" Unit of the European Commission will participate in the panel discussion on "Overcoming obstacles to innovation in SMEs".
