IASP'98 - European Conference on Science Parks

The International Association of Science Parks (IASP) will hold its 1998 European Conference of Science Parks in Stockholm, Sweden, from 24 to 26 June 1998.

The theme of the conference will be "Overcoming the tyranny of distance". Discussions will focus on the role of Science Parks in the Global Information Society and the opportunities provided by developing information and communication technologies.

The conference programme is expected to cover the following main areas:

- The economic impact of Science Parks;
- Clusters of expertise in economic development;
- Virtual Science Parks;
- Boundless funding and venture capital;
- Global access to university research;
- Internationalization;
- Networking;
- Research, business and entrepreneurship;
- Science Parks and regional development.

A preliminary conference programme and call for papers will be published by the end of the year.
