A workshop on wireless broadband communications will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 29 September 1997. The workshop is organized by the European Commission, DG XIII, within the Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme.

Topics to be covered will include:

- From W-LAN to WLL to MBS: building on common ground;
- Trade-offs in the different bands: from channel characterization and service requirements to technology selection;
- Service integration: from (voice and data) traffic characterization to QoS measurement, control and trade-off;
- Protocol Issues: from IP over ATM to optimum FEC/ARQ combinations;
- Market issues: service providers' and manufacturers' view points;
- Users' perspectives;
- Regulations and standards: where to stop.

A poster session will allow ACTS projects in the area of wireless ATM to present their solutions.
