A conference and workshop on new developments in electronic copyright will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 6 and 7 November 1997. The meeting is organized by the Danish Library Association, in cooperation with the (Danish) National Library Authority and EBLIDA (the European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation Associations).

The aim of the meeting is to discuss recent international and European developments in copyright, to prepare an EBLIDA position paper in response to the Commission's forthcoming proposals in the field, and to discuss future strategy at national and European level. The meeting will, in particular, address the Commission's proposals, expected to be published by autumn 1997, in areas such as reproduction rights, distribution rights, right of communication to the public, and legal protection of ECMS.

It should be noted that the conference (6 November) is open to all, while the workshop (7 November), which is concerned directly with preparing a position paper and EBLIDA's future strategy, is open only to EBLIDA members.
