Reference materials training course

A second training course on the preparation of reference materials will be held in Geel, Belgium, from 5 to 7 October 1997. The course is organized within the Standards, Measurements and Testing (SMT) specific RTD programme.
The course will address aspects of material preparation, testing (e.g. homogeneity/stability testing), establishment of reference values, and the use of Certified Reference Materials and Laboratory Reference Materials. The course is aimed at those wishing to gain a detailed insight into the preparation of RMs. As part of the course, a report will be prepared, describing general aspects of the production of environmental CRMs. This should be available at the end of 1997.
