RTD policy, regional development and the Structural Funds

The Regional Council of Lorraine (FR) is hosting a European seminar on "RTD and Innovation policy, regional policy and the Structural Funds". The seminar, organized in collaboration with the French Ministry for Education, Research and Technology and with support from the European Commission, will be held in Metz, France, on 23 October 1997.
The seminar is aimed primarily at all those involved in economic development, whether at national, regional or local level, and having responsibilities linked to RTD and innovation or the management of the Structural Funds of the European Commission. Its objective is to increase the awareness of participants to the growing importance of information and learning policies to social and economic development, in particular for disadvantaged areas and social groups.
