A workshop on "Raising funds for the commercialization of R&D activities" will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 6-7 November 1997. The workshop is being organized by Complex Business Solutions Ltd. (Bulgaria) and the Association of Bulgarians having studied in the United Kingdom. It is supported, among others, by the PHARE programme and the Bulgarian Fellow Member to the Innovation Relay Centres (FEMIRC Bulgaria).
The aim of the workshop is to provide inventors and entrepreneurs with information on the financial facilities available to support the start-up of a new technology based company. All aspects related to successful venturing will be discussed, including factors affecting the local investment climate (protection of intellectual property, specific risks, entrepreneurship, etc.). Presentations will be given, by officials from the USA, Germany, the UK and elsewhere, on the systems for linking science and industry in developed countries.
Participants will also receive guidance on the preparation of a business plan, including general structure, financial planning, total and quality planning. A poster session will include presentations of possible innovation projects.
