PATLIB'98 - Ninth European Patent Information Conference

PATLIB'98, the Ninth European Patent Information Conference, will take place in Alicante, Spain, in May 1998 (exact dates and venue to be decided). The conference is being organized by the European Patent Office (EPO), in collaboration, this year, with the Officina Espanola de Patentes y Marcas.

Themes to be covered in the 1998 PATLIB symposium (attendance by invitation only) include:

- Patent information in Spain;
- Developments in information technology and communication affecting the distribution of patent information;
- European initiatives;
- Regional aspects.

A public seminar programme highlighting the role of patent information in the innovation process will be held in parallel to the core conference programme. In addition, a number of EPO training courses covering CD-ROM products, on-line services and Internet will be held during the conference. Attendance at these courses will be dependent on pre-registration and payment of the course fees.

A public exhibition of patent information suppliers will be held throughout the event. This forms the most important interface between the patent information professionals and the public.
