Two proposal writing workshops, focusing on the ESPRIT call for proposals launched on 16 September 1997, will be held in the United Kingdom in October and November 1997. The workshops are organized by the Institute of European Trade and Technology (IETT), with support from the UK Department of Trade and Industry.

The workshops are aimed at those preparing a bid under the current ESPRIT call for proposals (OJ No C 280 of 16.9.1997 p. 15). In particular, there will be sessions covering the new themes: "Learning and training for industry" and "Information access and interfaces". The two workshops will be held as follows:

- London: 23 October 1997;
- Birmingham: 18 November 1997.

Participants will get a clear understanding of the rules and requirements which apply to proposals, gain hands-on experience of proposal writing, and learn from examples of good and bad practices. In addition, they will receive advice on how to enhance their proposals, maximize their chances of success and improve their understanding of the new themes. Confidential advice will be provided in one-to-one sessions.
