East-West Cooperation Days for the pulp and paper, board, packaging and converting, printing, publishing and advertising industries will be held in Budapest, Hungary, on 29 and 30 October 1997. The event is organized by INTERGRAF (International Confederation for Printing and Allied Industries) and CITPA (International Confederation of Paper and Board Converters in Europe) with support from the European Paper, Converting and Graphic Industry Forum and the respective Hungarian associations.

The first day will focus on financial support schemes for joint ventures to be established in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as tax and legal matters. Part of the programme will include presentations from managers who have successfully set up joint ventures in the communications fields.

The second day will be devoted to the establishment of direct contacts between participants. Meetings will be pre-arranged on the basis of profiles submitted to the organizers in advance of the meeting. In addition to these meetings with a view to developing partnerships and cooperation opportunities, participants will also be able to arrange meetings with representatives from the European Commission, and specialized professionals such as banks or lawyers.
