Third TIDE Congress - Technology for Inclusive Design and Equality
The Congress, organized within the framework of the Community's Technology Initiative for the Integration of Disabled and Elderly People (TIDE), will present the results of seven years of TIDE projects and prepare the future of the initiative in the context of the Fifth Framework Programme. The specific focus this year will be on technology systems and services for inclusive design and equality.
The two main aims of TIDE, part of the Telematics Applications programme, are:
- To contribute, through applications of innovative technology systems and services, to the autonomy and integration of people with disabilities and older people in daily life;
- To improve the European industry and market in products and services that meet the needs of these target groups.
This is achieved through cooperation in research and development projects, the promotion of products and services "designed for all", involvement of users and promotion of industrial awareness, standardization and convergence of regulations and service policies.
The three-day Congress will consist of plenary and parallel sessions with presentations of papers and posters. An exhibition presenting the results of selected TIDE projects will be organized in parallel with the Congress.
Abstracts are presently being invited for submission on the following (indicative) topics:
- Access and accessibilities in the Information Society;
