The Second Euroconference on Environmental Analytical Chemistry, focusing on "Environmental analytical chemistry for the protection of sensitive ecosystems", will take place in Cordoba, Spain, from 31 October to 6 November 1998. Organized by the University of Cordoba, the conference is supported by DG XII of the European Commission, within the framework of the specific programme for the Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR).

The conference will provide a forum for ecological scientists, industrial chemists and specialists in analytical methodology to discuss the role of analytical measurement processes in providing reliable chemical information with a view to taking pertinent social, economic and legal actions towards the protection of sensitive ecosystems.

In order to encourage the participation of young scientists, 40 fellowships covering accommodation with full board will be made available for young researchers from EU Member States and Associated States. In addition, 20 researchers from less favoured regions are eligible to receive a further contribution to the costs of travel of up to ESP 40,000.
