EO-GEO'98, a workshop on Web and Internet-accessible systems for earth observation and geospatial data, will be held in Salzburg, Austria, from 17 to 19 February 1998.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together developers of Web and Internet based systems for earth observation, global change, geographic information systems (GIS) and other geo-referenced data. A number of on-going programmes worldwide cover this area and research in the field is generally fast-moving.

The workshop will allow participants to discuss and agree on common solutions for the interfacing, searching and accessing of data, catalogues and geographic data via the Web and related Internet technologies. Participation of vendors, who will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their products, is encouraged.

The workshop programme will include a mixture of technical sessions and project sessions. The project sessions will feature presentations of projects, which may include demonstrations, and will outline the approach to technical issues taken in each project.
