Quality assurance for chemical analysis

A series of training courses on "Quality assurance for chemical analysis" will be held in Greece, France, Spain, Portugal and Italy in the period September to November 1998. The courses, which are supported by the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of Standards, Measurements and Testing (SMT), are aimed primarily at small regional laboratories and will be held in the language of the country in which they take place.

The objective of the courses is to ensure the transfer of the concept of quality control and quality assurance in the analytical laboratory to smaller regional laboratories with limited access to international literature, limited resources and limited understanding of the English language. They are addressed primarily at QA and laboratory managers, and analysts working in routine control laboratories.

The courses are based on a harmonized European concept, supported by the preparation of a book on quality in the analytical laboratory which will be translated (from the original English) into the five European languages concerned.
