MAVA 98, a technology business convention on thermal treatment of urban and industrial wastes, will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 4 and 5 May 1998. The event is organized in collaboration with the ARIST Bourgogne Innovation Relay Centre in Central and Eastern France.

The aim of the event is to bring together technology providers and potential clients from all over Europe. The main companies displaying technologies are likely to be:

- Manufacturers of thermal treatment machinery and auxiliary equipment;
- Developers of new thermal treatment processes and technologies;
- Engineering consultants.

The likely clients for these technologies who will be attending will include:

- Industries with heavy non-toxic waste problems;
- Urban communities having to face waste and zero-discharge problems;
- Public companies dealing with waste treatment and energy recovery.
