European Design Innovation Tool

A conference presenting the European Design Innovation Tool (EDIT), a project supported under the Innovation Management Techniques action of the EU's INNOVATION programme, will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 8 June 1998.

The EDIT project is directed at improving design and innovation management in SMEs by applying a new methodology based on techniques, tools and best practices and by widely disseminating the results.

The conference is aimed at design and innovation policy-makers, National Design Centres in the European Economic Area, Innovation Relay Centres and others involved in design associations and consultancies. The conference sessions will include:

- A presentation of European Commission support in the field of design and innovation;
- An introduction to the EDIT project and methodology;
- Coordination of activities to strengthen competitiveness in the field of industrial design;
- A presentation of the integration and use of design in the conduct and exploitation of R&D projects;
- A presentation of other European initiatives for design development.
