The 50th Frankfurt Book Fair, the world's largest communications fair, will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 7 to 12 October 1998. The fair is expected to attract some 9,500 exhibitors from over 100 countries and will present and demonstrate the latest developments in media, technology and content.

The Frankfurt Book Fair provides the ideal forum for business networking and partner search in the field of publishing and multimedia, as well as acting as the world's most important platform for rights and licences. Some 12,000 rights are expected to be on offer, and these will be published in an electronic rights catalogue on the Frankfurt CD-ROM.

An exhibition area devoted to electronic media will focus on presenting, buying and selling the latest products and technologies in multimedia, CD-ROMs and online services.
