The European Multimedia Forum is organizing a seminar entitled "Europe's contribution to the Global Information Society", to be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 24 and 25 March 1998.

The seminar will address topics such as the proposed international charter, Internet governance, business opportunities outside the EU, and the EU's forthcoming Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The aim is to explore:

- The political and economic impact of Europe in a global environment;
- Internet governance;
- How European information and communications technology companies can develop potential markets outside the EU;
- What are the future EU funding possibilities for multimedia and information and communications technologies.

The seminar will consist of a mixture of panel discussions and presentations. Speakers will include officials from the European Commission, MEPs, and representatives of European ICT industries.
