The 26th Spring School on computing theory will take place in Ile de Noirmoutier, France from 4 to 7 May 1998. The event, organized by INRIA, with support from the EU's Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) programme, is aimed at researchers and engineers who are interested in Max-Plus Algebra.

The aim of the conference is to explain algebraic results obtained from these formulae and to show in detail, with reference to case studies, how these structures provide an understanding and are useful tools for various applications.

The main themes to be addressed include:

- Max-Plus algebra;
- Languages;
- Systems;
- Performance evaluation;
- Industrial automation;
- Transport networks.
