An international conference on the future of the Internet and the World Wide Web sponsored by the British Computer Society, will be held in Bradford, United Kingdom, from 20 to 23 April 1998.

This conference aims to address current interest in the convergence of computing, telecommunications, television and broadcasting and the impact of the evolution of the Web. The conference will be divided into four sessions, within which a wide range of topics will be presented. One presentation by a representative of DG XIII of the European Commission will adress the "Future of content initiatives within the Fifth RTD Framework Programme". Other sessions include:

- Convergence: technologies, virtual reality, networks and media;
- Network environments for clients, collaborators and viewers;
- Creation and delivery of content: technology and users;
- Creation and delivery of content: applications.
