ATM Developments'98 - Impact of telecommunications standards on the Information Society

A joint workshop organized by the ATM Forum EMAC and the European Union's Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme, will be held in Rennes, France, on 24 March 1998.
Many different applications can be supported by common services and platforms, however, open interfaces are essential for interoperability, ensuring the development of a flourishing, competitive market. This European conference will inform participants of new services and products in the field and will offer high-level training. Four main sessions will take place, with the opportunity for panel discussions with invited speakers. The sessions include:
- Technical session covering new guidelines under development;
- User case studies;
- Policy and regulatory issues;
- Standards issues.
