Energy financing and eco-management workshops - Italy

ICIE, the Istituto per la ricerca applicata ed il trasferimento technologico, an Italian member of the OPET (Organizations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies) network, is organizing two workshops in Rome, Italy, in April and June 1998.
The first workshop, on 16 April 1998, will address "Financial instruments for the realization of energy projects" in view of the liberalization of electricity markets. This workshop, organized in cooperation with Italian federations of utilities, aims to encourage the adoption of more efficient energy technologies and the use of renewable energies in place of fossil fuels, so as to reduce Italy's dependence on external sources of electricity. It will look at different means of financing energy projects, in particular the "Third Party Financing" instrument.
The second workshop, to be held on 11 June 1998, will cover the "Voluntary participation of the industrial sector in the Community eco-management and audit system". Again organized in cooperation with the utilities federations, this workshop aims to promote the Eco-management and audit system (EMAS), and will look at the processes involved in obtaining certification for sites.For further information, please contact:
