Socio-economic trends and industrial strategies in Information Society technologies
In order to evaluate the competitive situation of European industry in the field of Information Society technologies, the European Commission, DG XIII, has recently published an invitation to tender for research on this subject. The study should place particular emphasis on the application of these technologies to the health, disabled and elderly, and environment, transport and tourism sectors, as well as to public administrations. It will also analyse the economic and social importance of these domains, the technological and market trends or scenarios, and the position of European industry in the global context.
