In order to fully realise all aspects of the economic and social potential of multimedia information sources, in particular, by making the most of opportunities to create new jobs and improve economic integration and social cohesion, the European Commission, DG XIII, has published an invitation to tender to launch an experimental action within the EU and EFTA, enabling: - Young people and adults to be trained in specialised professions necessary to the information industries and the European economy; - Social approval of this high-level training to be obtained from citizens by way of discovery conferences enabling each citizen to be provided with the fixed points of reference they need in the information society for their professional and private life.
