Next week in the European Parliament, Anne André-Léonard of the Foreign Affairs Committee will express support for a stronger relationship and partnership between the European Union (EU) and India. This forms part of a new generation of agreements, which seek to redefine the EU's external action by giving a clearer identity and political consistency. But, there is condemnation of the nuclear tests conducted last year by both India and Pakistan, and André-Léonard will urge India to sign and to ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. She is calling on all states in the region, including China and Pakistan, to remove all nuclear threats there.
