The European Commission Research Directorate-General is inviting proposals for indirect RTD actions under the Fifth Framework Programme. The actions required should address the parts of the work programme that enhance access to research infrastructures, particularly infrastructure cooperation networks, round tables and exploratory workshops. The objective of the infrastructure cooperation networks is to pool resources and achieve higher performance techniques, spread good practice and promote common protocols and interoperability. Round tables will bring together the operators of similar infrastructures financed by the Programme to coordinate work under contracts. This should enable an exchange of experiences and expand the research efforts of individual contractors. Exploratory research infrastructure groups will allow potential participants with little history of transnational cooperation to explore the possibilities of establishing research networks. The budget available for this call is 6 million euro for infrastructure cooperation networks, and one million euro for round tables and exploratory workshops.
