To determine gender impact in the European Commission's specific programmes of the Fifth RTD Framework Programme (FP5), the European Commission is calling for tenders to carry out eight studies. These will be used to formulate recommendations for better integration of the gender dimension in future research activities and programmes. A first call for tenders was published in the Official Journal of the European Communities in September 1999 (OJ S 183 of 21.9.1999). Following the evaluation of the offers received under that call, the Commission has decided to republish the call for tenders for the following six lots: - Lot 1: Quality of Life and Management of Living resources; - Lot 2: User-friendly Information Society; - Lot 3: Competitive and Sustainable Growth; - Lot 4: Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development/Energy; - Lot 6: Confirming the International Role of Community research; - Lot 8: Improving human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base.
